A vertex (pl. vertices) is a point where two or more one-dimensional subfacets (edges) of a polytope meet. The vertex is the point where the angles between the edges are formed. Vertices are also known as "corners" of a polytope as a consequence of the defined angles.
Vertices are zero dimensional subfacets, the facets of a polytelon, the ridges of a polygon, and the peaks of a polyhedron.
The number of vertices in a polytope is called the vertex count.
