A turtlie is an arbitrarily large bound collection of galaxies or smaller turtlies, typically forming structures with any shape at groups of same level.

In many universes, including our own, the larger turtlies are unable to form, the timescales and length scales on which turtlies interact being larger than the universe; the largest turtlies than appear in our universe, for example, are galaxy filaments.

Turtlies that can appear in larger universes include supergalaxies.
