The complex plane is a term that is commonly used to refer to a space with one real dimension and one imaginary dimension. However, that space, also known as an Argand plane, actually has only one complex dimension and should be called a complex line. Strictly speaking, a true complex plane is a space with two complex dimensions, and coordinates on said space need to be located with a pair of complex numbers.
